Water, sewer, garbage and recycling
Water/sewer/ garbage and recycling are billed by the city.
These are billed monthly, being sent out no later than the 1st of the month, and due by the 15th of the month. Anything paid after the 15th will have a penalty charge added to their account. If you move or have a rental property, you need to notify City Hall of the change, or the bill will continue being billed in your name. Garbage service is by Kluesner Sanitation. Garbage pick-up is done every Wednesday, and totes must be out no later than 6:00 am. Recycling is every other week.
City Council Meetings
City Council meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. The agenda is posted at Maynard Savings Bank, City Hall, and the Post Office. City Hall is located at 111 Third Street North, P.O. Box 500, Hazleton, Iowa 50641.
Legion Hall and Park Shelter Rental
The Legion Hall and park shelter are available to rent to the public. For reservations or questions, please call the City Clerk at 319-636-2559.
Tree Dump
The city has a tree dump for brush, branches, trees and stumps. (No garbage.)
