Hiring – CODE COMPLIANCE OFFICER

The City of Hazleton, Iowa, is seeking a Code Compliance Officer. This position is for the community and will be tasked with developing a process and program to complete inspections and enforce city ordinances. It will be important for this individual to be personable and work with the public through difficult situations in an understanding but firm manner. This individual must be skilled in decision-making and generally work well with the public with minimal supervision.

This position is part-time and reports to the Mayor of Hazleton. The position will also be expected to work across City Departments, including the City Clerk, Public Works, and City Attorney, to address and solve issues. The Code Compliance Officer must be customer service-oriented and energized by working with and serving the community members with differing goals, opinions, and objectives to address and solve difficult issues.
