Hazleton/Fontana Cemetery Grave Decoration Guidelines
It is time to review the grave decoration guidelines for the Hazleton/Fontana Cemetery. All grave decorations will be removed by the cemetery staff after October 20th. This keeps the cemetery looking neat and clean by removing the old faded decorations. New decorations may be placed after Nov. 1st. These decorations will remain until March 15th.
A reminder to all that only ONE shepherd’s hook and TWO container units are permitted for each grave. This includes any large display posts. They will be considered as the ONE permitted shepherd’s hook. However, it is recommended that all shepherd’s hooks be removed before October 20th for the winter. If a hook becomes frozen in the ground it may be necessary to cut it at ground level for a possible winter burial.
Following these regulations helps Hazleton Township Cemeteries remain beautiful and well-maintained.
A full enumeration of grave decoration regulations can be had by requesting one from the township clerk at 1860 125th St., Hazleton, IA 50641.
