NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPOINT COUNCIL MEMBER
The Hazleton City Council hereby gives notice that the elective seat created by the resignation of Amy Ekstrand is now vacant and the Council intends to fill this said vacancy by appointment by the remaining members of the Council on May 16th, 2018 at Hazleton City Hall. This meeting is open to the public. This appointment will be until the next pending election, pursuant to Section 69.12 of the Code of Iowa. Pursuant to Section 372.13 of the Code of Iowa, any elector of the City of Hazleton has the right to file a petition requiring that the vacancy be filled by special election. This petition must be filed with the City Clerk in accordance with Section 372.13 of the Code of Iowa and within fourteen days of this notice or appointment whichever is later. All Hazleton residents interested in being appointed to this vacancy are requested to submit a letter of interest by 4:00 pm. on Friday, 11 May
2018 to the City Clerk at 111 Third St N. (PO Box 500) Hazleton, IA.
